Boys basketball

North 64, Ellet 63

Junior Damon Bowman scored 20 points, including seven in the fourth quarter, and the visiting Vikings (1-16, 1-9 City Series) survived two last-second shots by the Orangemen (2-15, 1-10) to win their first game since 2010.

Sophomore Edward Harris made a layup with 10 seconds left to give the Vikings a one-point lead.

The Orangemen had a chance to win, but senior Ryan Walsh missed a layup and the attempted putback at the buzzer to end the game.

The Orangemen led by three at halftime, but multiple turnovers kept the Vikings in the game.

The Vikings outscored the Orangemen 21-10 in the third quarter, led by Bowman’s two 3-pointers.

Junior Ricky Grant scored 13 points and Harris scored 10 for the Vikings.

Walsh led the Orangemen with 21 points.

The Vikings’ last win came against the Orangemen on Feb. 2, 2010.

Suburban League

Wadsworth 67, Copley 65

Senior Josh Kipfer scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the host Grizzlies (8-7, 6-4) in a win over the Indians (9-6, 6-4).

Senior Jack Snowball scored 16 points and went 5-of-8 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to help the Grizzlies put away the game.

Senior CJ Chatman scored 17 points and senior Devin Reif had 13 for the Indians.

Nordonia 76, Revere 44

The host Knights (13-2, 10-0) jumped out to a 15-5 lead in the first quarter and never let up in a win over the Minutemen (2-13, 2-8).

Senior Jarrett Ruffin scored 14 points, and junior Chris Scott chipped in with 13 for the Knights.

Mike Benson led the Minutemen with 10 points.

North Coast

Archbishop Hoban 54,
Parma Padua 36

The host Knights (9-4, 3-3) outscored the Bruins (4-11, 0-7) 23-5 in the third quarter after trailing by nine at halftime for the win.

Senior Sean Robbins and junior Saadiq Muhammad each scored 11 points to lead the Knights.

Walsh Jesuit 53, NDCL 38

The host Warriors (9-4, 3-3) outscored Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (7-6, 3-3) by 15 points in the second half after a halftime tie for the win.

Nick Foschia led the Warriors with 21 points.

Youngstown East 50

Eric Hummel scored 25 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead the host Magics (10-5) over the Panthers. Joshua Williams scored 12 points for the Magics.

Kent Roosevelt 75,
Ravenna 62

Senior Zach Brett scored 19 points, senior Bruce Thomas added 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and the host Rough Riders (11-3, 10-1) beat the Ravens.

Senior Shakeel Howard scored 14 points and had 10 assists, and senior Curtis Black added 12 points and pulled down 1 rebounds for the Rough Riders.

Jermaine Justice led the Ravens with 12 points and 16 rebounds.

Norton 83, Field 31

Tyler Sherman’s 25 points led the visiting Panthers (12-4, 9-2) over the Falcons (3-10, 2-9) in a Metro Division blowout.

Aaron VanBuskirk scored 14 points and Matt McGlone added 11 for the Panthers.

Mogadore 68, Southeast 52

Senior Michael Duma and junior Hunter Van Camp each scored 14 points for the host Wildcats (11-4, 7-4 County) in a win over the Pirates (11-5, 8-3).

East Canton 33

Cameron Pozsgai scored 14 points, Matt Knight added 12 and the visiting Bombers defeated the Hornets in a County Division game.

Senior Mike Conley’s 19 points led the host Rovers (9-7, 6-5 County) over the Vikings.

CVCA 80, Indian Valley 55

Junior Bob Peters scored 19 points, freshman Michael Peters added 16 and the host Royals (9-6, 6-4) defeated the Braves (5-10, 4-7).

Northeastern Buckeye

Alliance 63, Marlington 49

J.J. Kukura and Vern Martin each scored 17 points, Parish Martin and Jalen Mays each scored 13, and the host Aviators (16-0, 10-0) defeated the Dukes (10-4, 8-3).
