Wadsworth 61, Barberton 60
Junior Kyle Prunty scored on a put back of a missed 3-pointer with seven seconds left to give the visiting Grizzlies (6-5) a 61-60 win over the Magics (8-3) in a nonleague game Tuesday night.
The Grizzlies trailed 52-46 after the third quarter and were behind by nine points with six minutes to go but used a pressure defense to turn the game around and rallied in the fourth quarter for the win.
“It was a total team effort and the guys stepped up big,” Wadsworth coach Mike Schmeltzer said. “It was a great team win and I’m very proud of our guys.”
Prunty finished with 18 points and junior Pat Long added 14 for the Grizzlies. Joshua Williams led the Magics with 20 points.
Cuyahoga Falls 55, Kent Roosevelt 45
Angelo Cugini scored 14 points and juniors Josh Ricker and Jacob Slone each added 11 points for the visiting Black Tigers (8-4).
East 76, Kenmore 62
Senior Brandon Townsend scored 22 points to lead the Dragons and junior Oshay Vinson led the Cardinals with 25 points in a City Series game.
CVCA 53, Archbishop Hoban 50
Senior Bob Peters scored 26 points and the host Royals (10-2) held off a late rally by the Knights (8-2).
