Despite a 36-point, 11-rebound effort from senior forward Cara Cook, the visiting Spartans (10-5, 8-1) lost their first conference game of the season and the Panthers (3-10, 1-8) won their first.

The Panthers, trailing by nine entering the fourth quarter, mounted a 13-4 comeback to send the game into overtime.

Leading the Panthers were senior forward Sam Karas with 19 points and senior guard Jaime Alcorn with 16.

Canton South 50,
Barberton 49

Caroline Thompson hit the game-winning basket as time expired for the visiting Wildcats (6-8). She finished with nine points.

Leading the Wildcats in scoring was Hunter Harris with 17 points.

Pacing the Magics (4-10) was senior forward Katie Wright, who led in points (14) and rebounds (7). Freshman guard Macy Chik added 10 points of her own.

Northwest 55 (OT)

Shannon Sellari scored four of her team’s 11 points in overtime to help guide the visiting Polar Bears (7-7) to a nonleague victory.

Leading the Polar Bears was Landrie Grace with 19 points. Abby Duffy had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Pacing the Indians was Ashley Crossland with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Jessica Boecker and Amanda Crites added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The host G-Men were unable to overcome a 13-2 first quarter deficit in this PTC-County game.

Scoring in double figures for the Wildcats (4-9, 4-4) were senior Makenzie Williams (13), junior Ashley Barker (12) and sophomore Grace Reilly (12).

Pacing the G-Men were senior guard Jackie Tabor (12) and senior guard Melody Bright (11).

Field 47, Crestwood 36

Senior guard Morgan Peachey and junior guard Tiffany Spaller both scored nine points in the host Falcons’ (10-4, 6-3) Portage Trail Conference-Metro victory.

Pacing the Red Devils (8-6, 4-5) was senior guard Tia Nuti with eight points.

Senior Nick Krainess rolled a high game 238 and high series 433 for the Blue Devils (8-2) in this tightly contested match.

The top bowler for the Orangemen (7-2) was sophomore Joel Beswetherick, who rolled a high game 237 and series 428.
