Hudson 22, Brunswick 13

Junior quarterback Mitchell Guadagni had an impressive day, throwing for 238 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 98 yards on 14 carries with a touchdown for the host Explorers (3-0, 1-0 Northeast Ohio).

The Blue Devils (2-1, 0-1) outscored Hudson 13-3 in the second half, but it was not enough to overcome the 19-0 halftime deficit.

Senior Richie Norman led Brunswick with 128 yards rushing and a touchdown on 28 carries.

The game was suspended on Friday with 4:42 remaining in the second quarter because of inclement weather.

Green 27, Revere 12

Quarterback John Davies had a huge game for the visiting Bulldogs (3-1, 1-0 Suburban), throwing for 282 yards and four touchdowns on 17-of-35 passing.

His main target was James Angel, who hauled in seven receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown.

The Minutemen (1-3, 0-1) worked more on the ground, being led by Chase Costanzo, who racked up 139 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

The game was resumed after being suspended Friday night due to the weather.

Boys soccer

Stow 1, Firestone 0

In a defensive battle in which there were only nine shots on goal, it was senior midfielder Robby Anderson who broke the tie with 17 minutes remaining to earn the visiting Bulldogs (5-5-1) a victory.

Anderson was assisted by sophomore midfielder Logan Morris.

The Falcons drop to 7-4-1.

Northwest 2, Norton 2

Norton outshot Northwest 14-3, but the Indians made their shots count to pull off the draw.

Senior forward Kyle Sabol scored both the goals for the Indians (3-5-3).

Senior Jeff Nagy scored twice for the Panthers (2-5-4).

All four goals came in the first half.

Girls soccer

Walsh Jesuit 4, Jackson 0

Senior defender Maddy Anzelc and sophomore forward Christina Trickett each scored and assisted on a goal as the visiting Warriors (10-0-1) remained undefeated.

Sophomore keeper Lauren Demarchi needed only two saves to hold the Polar Bears (7-2-1) scoreless.

Firestone 5, Ravenna 0

Reilly Dougherty and Megan Zanin each scored twice for the visiting Falcons.

Dougherty also had two assists and Zanin assisted on a goal as well.

The Ravens drop to 4-4-3 with the loss.

Ellet 5, Alliance 0

Senior Brittany Torres notched her third hat trick of the season for the host Orangemen (4-7).

Kendra Love and Rebecca Six each scored and assisted for the Orangemen.

With the assist, Love broke the school’s all-time record in assists.

Junior keeper Meghan Rorar made five saves to shut out the Aviators (3-8).


Wadsworth 3, Hudson 0

Sophomore Jodi Johnson had 14 kills and senior Ciera Koons had seven blocks to lead the host Grizzlies (13-3) Rachel Pressley added 14 assists and Peyton Booth had 13 digs.

The Explorers (11-5) were led by juniors Jordan Mackay (18 kills), Sarah Young (21 digs) and Alyssa Disandis (42 assists).
