Boyazis, a junior, compiled a 4-0 pitching record with four complete games and three shutouts in wins over Highland (3-0), Copley (9-2), Streetsboro (3-0) and Steubenville Catholic Central (10-0). She struck out 17 in 28 innings, and allowed two earned runs. She also batted .540 with seven hits in 13 at bats with an on-base percentage of more than .600.
Cistone, a junior, helped Lake defeat Boardman (7-1 and 8-5) and Chippewa (14-1). He went 7-for-11 at bat with one home run, six runs batted in, six runs scored and three stolen bases.
Norton, girls track and field
Myers, a junior, helped Norton to a 3-1 record last week with a win (8-6) and a loss (7-3) against Crestwood and two wins over Firestone (3-2 and 9-6). She batted .750 with 12 hits in 16 at bats, seven runs batted in and had six doubles and one triple.
Wadsworth, girls track and field
Runkle, a senior, placed first in four events at the Lexington Invitational. She won the 200-meter dash in 25.53 seconds, the 400 in 57.8, the long jump with a result of 17-feet and contributed on the Grizzlies’ 1,600 relay that clocked a 4:07.46.
Nordonia, boys track and field
Ward, a junior, guided host Nordonia to a team victory in the Knight Relays that featured 11 schools. He placed first in the long jump with a result of 21-feet-11¾ inches and took part on two relay victories, the 400 (42.67) and the 800 (1:28.41).
