MEGAN FORNEY WATERLOO
Academics: One of four valedictorians in a class of 104 graduates. Compiled a 4.0 grade-point average. Received A’s in honors and advanced-placement courses. Scored a 34 on the ACT. Will attend the University of Rochester.
Athletics: Earned nine varsity letters — four in track and field, three in volleyball and two in basketball. Track and field: Varsity captain, field event MVP, Portage Trail Conference County Division champion and a regional qualifier in the discus throw and in the 800-meter relay. Volleyball: Varsity captain, team MVP, first-team All-PTC County and All-District three years in a row, All-Ohio selection. Basketball: Varsity captain, holds school record for most rebounds in a single game (27) and scored 24 points in that game, second-team All-PTC County and All-District, All-Ohio selection.
Community: Volunteer at Robinson Memorial Hospital and at the Portage County District Library; youth assistant coach in basketball and volleyball; helped lead an anti-cyber bullying and social media awareness seminar; Quiz Bowl team captain and MVP; president of National Honor Society and Beta Club, actor and backstage crew member in Drama Club; member of Pre-Professional Academy and Waterloo High School bands (marching, symphonic, pep, jazz and percussion ensemble); academic scholarship recipient of the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award.
