On most days, red is the dominant color at a Wadsworth High School athletic event. On Tuesday evening, everyone was thinking pink.
The Grizzlies hosted Suburban League rival Highland in one of the area's first ''Volley for the Cure'' matches of 2008. Now in its second year statewide, Volley for the Cure is a way to increase awareness of breast cancer among high school students and the school community, and to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Nearly all of Ohio's 800 high school volleyball teams will play a Volley for the Cure match some time through early October.
To learn more, go to the state coaches' Web site at http://www.ohsvca.net and follow the Volley for the Cure link, or call your school's athletics office.
