Royals roll into Div. III regional soccer finals

CVCA 6, Bristol 0 — Tim Hudec, Evan Crocker, Sachem Wilson and Joe Orihel each had a goal and an assist and the Royals (14-0-5) defeated the Panthers in a Division III regional semifinal.

The Royals had a 3-0 halftime lead and had a 15-1 advantage in shots on goal and a 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Goalkeeper Nick Ciraldo had the only save for the Royals and combined with Stephen Port for the shutout.

Orihel had two assists to go along with a goal. Brent Black and Michael Hulisz also scored and Michael Stoddard added an assist.

The Royals play the winner of the Rootstown-Wellington match at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ravenna.

Chippewa 2, Huron 1 — Joe Lueders and Michael Dudics each scored a goal to lead the Chipps (16-2-1) over the Tigers in a Division III regional semifinal at Medina.

Lueders scored in the first half and Dudics scored the insurance goal with almost 20 minutes remaining in the match. Chris Garbinsky had seven saves for the Chipps, who had a 12-11 advantage in shots on goal.

Chippewa will play the winner of the Ottawa Glandorf-Blufton match at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ashland.

Bay Village Bay 2, Revere 0 — The Rockets scored two goals in the second half after a 0-0 halftime tie to defeat the Minutemen (14-3-3) in a Division II regional semifinal played at Rocky River.

Nick Ciraldo combined with AARON Port for the shutout, not Stephen- I graduated last year! So much for giving credit where credit is due...Great job, Royals!
