The St. Vincent-St. Mary girls soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 overtime loss to St. Mary's Memorial in a Division II regional semifinal at Lexington High School on Wednesday night.

The Irish (15-3-3) took the lead in the first half on a goal by senior midfielder and captain Erica Hutson, assisted by Miranda Yeaton, and held the lead until late in the second half.

With 6:51 to go, a goal by Sam Davenport tied the score and sent the game into overtime.

In the overtime, Carrie Schlatter of St. Mary's Memorial took the ball from the left side and found teammate Macy Davis-Farrall, who beat St. Vincent-St. Mary goalkeeper Adrienne Henterly for the game-winner.

St. Mary's Memorial (16-4-1) advances to the regional final to take on Millbury Lake on Saturday.

St. V-M outshot St. Mary's Memorial 12-7, and Henterly made three saves for the Irish.
