Hip feeling better,
Carmona resumes
throwing program
CLEVELAND: The pain in Fausto Carmona's hip has disappeared, allowing him to restart his throwing program.
''Fausto will play catch tomorrow,'' manager Eric Wedge said. ''He will have to go through some of [what he already had completed] that again, but he won't start from ground zero.''
When the hip flared up again, Carmona was on the verge of going on a rehab assignment.
FLEX TIME FOR CABRERA — Asdrubal Cabrera has been hitting over .400 at Triple-A Buffalo, but there is no timetable for bringing him back to Cleveland.
Asked if there was a time frame for his return, Wedge said, ''No we don't have one. We just want him to play.''
Part of the issue with Cabrera when he was on the roster was his conditioning.
''This is more about his daily routine than just baseball,'' Wedge said. ''He's headed in the right direction; he just needs to keep it going.''
TV SCHEDULE CHANGE — The July 5 game at the Minnesota Twins will be televised by SportsTime Ohio rather than WKYC (Channel 3), and Channel 3 will air the July 12 game at Progressive Field against the Tampa Rays. The game had been on STO's schedule.
FARM FACTS — Brock Simpson doubled, singled twice and drove in one run, as Mahoning Valley beat Auburn 6-4 in Class A. Corteze Armstrong also got three hits, including a triple, and one RBI. . . . Abner Abreu and Chun-Hsiu Chen each got two hits, but the Gulf Coast League Indians lost to the Braves 5-0.
