Cleveland Indians notes: Zach McAllister to make rehab appearance with Aeros

CLEVELAND: Zach McAllister (finger injury) will make his first rehab appearance Saturday night at the Akron Aeros then pitch at an undetermined site next week.

“He has a chance to go four innings in his first outing,” Tribe manager Terry Francona said. “He won’t throw any curveballs. But he can do that in his bullpens. In his second rehab game, he will throw curveballs.”

If McAllister suffers no setbacks, it is likely he will return to the rotation a few days after the All-Star break.

“Everything has been great,” Francona said of McAllister’s progress.
