Fans who travel to Arizona for spring training exhibition season can see the Indians play 18 games at Goodyear Ballpark, beginning Feb. 26.
The Tribe will play 15 games as the home team and three as the visitors against the Cincinnati Reds, with whom they share the facility. All games at Goodyear are scheduled for 1 p.m. local time except the March 18 contest against the San Francisco Giants, which will begin at 7 p.m.
After the 30-game Cactus League schedule, the Tribe will play two exhibition games against the Padres at Petco Park in San Diego on March 28 and March 29 before opening the season on March 31 against the Athletics in Oakland.
Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to Goodyear on Feb. 11, with their first workout set for Feb. 13. The full squad reports Feb. 15, with the first full-squad workout set for Feb. 17.
Season tickets for exhibition season go on sale Dec. 3, single-game tickets Dec. 14. Tickets will be available at Indians.com, Goodyear ticket office, at 1-800-745-3000 or 1-866-48-TRIBE, in person at Indians Team Shops and Ticketmaster locations.
The Indians have signed free agent left-hander Mike Zagurski to a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to major-league training camp.
Last year, Zagurski, 30, spent time in the New York Yankees’, Pittsburgh Pirates’ and A’s organizations, posting a combined Triple-A record of 6-3 with two saves and a 3.04 ERA in 45 relief appearances. He also appeared in seven games with the Pirates and Yankees, giving up 12 earned runs and 11 hits in 6⅓ innings.
