CLEVELAND: Nick Swisher didn’t play Sunday and manager Terry Francona said he probably won’t play tonight, as the Indians begin a series against the Royals.
“I could tell last night he was feeling it,” Francona said, referring to Swisher’s swing. “I don’t know how far back he’s been feeling it. At least partially, it could go back all year.”
Earlier in the season, Swisher missed three games because of shoulder pain.
Swisher was undergoing a medical evaluation Sunday, the results of which probably will be announced today. Whether he is headed for the disabled list is unknown at this point.
