Bowling Green beats Kent State

The Golden Flashes had won their last three games on the road heading into Wednesday nights game at Bowling Green, but they will have to start a new streak after falling 70-55 to the Falcons.

The Flashes (11-8, 2-3 Mid-American Conference) went toe-to-toe with the Falcons (7-11, 2-3) in the second half, but were unable to overcome a 35-22 first-half deficit.

Contributing to the Flashes’ first-half woes was an 8-for-29 shooting performance, including 0-for-8 on 3-pointers.

Senior guard Randal Holt led the Flashes in scoring with 17 points. He also and had five steals, four rebounds and four assists.

Senior forward Chris Evans scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds, with two steals and two blocks.

True freshman Khaliq Spicer made the most of his limited second-half playing time, scoring four points on two dunks, grabbing four rebounds and blocking a shot in 17 minutes of action.

Chauncey Orr scored 18 to lead the Falcons.

Kent State will return home to host Ohio University in a game that will be televised regionally on SportsTime Ohio.
