Flashes dynamic kick returner Dri Archer named MAC Special Teams Player of the Week

By Stephanie Storm Published: October 7, 2013

Kent State senior kick returner Dri Archer was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Special Teams Player of the Week this morning for his play in the Golden Flashes 38-24 loss to visiting Northern Illinois Saturday at Dix Stadium.

With his first opportunity to return a kickoff of the season after battling a sprained ankle suffered in the first game of the season, Archer raced 100 yards for a touchdown. The 100-yard kickoff return tied a school record set in 1979 by Norman Warren.

Archer now has four career kickoff returns for touchdowns, all of which have gone for 98 yards or more.
