The kickoff times for five of the six home football games for the University of Akron were announced Tuesday by the Mid-American Conference.
Five of UA’s six home games will be on Saturdays at InfoCision Stadium, and the Zips will host five opponents who competed in a bowl game last season.
The MAC also announced that UA will be televised nationally for at least three games in the 2013 season.
The first televised game will be the home opener against James Madison on ESPN3 at 6 p.m. Sept. 7.
Following a road game against Michigan at noon Sept. 14 that will be televised on the Big Ten Network, the Zips will host Louisiana at 6 p.m. Sept. 21.
After opening the MAC season at Bowling Green on Sept. 28, the Zips will host Ohio at 2 p.m. Oct. 5.
After road games at Northern Illinois at 4 p.m. Oct. 12 and Miami at 1 p.m. Oct. 19, the Zips will be home at noon Oct. 26 against Ball State in a game that will be televised regionally by ESPN and carried by ESPN3. The Zips are home against Kent State at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 2.
After two weeks off, the Zips will travel to Gillette Stadium (home of the New England Patriots) to play UMass at 1 p.m. Nov. 16 and will end the season at home against Toledo on Friday, Nov. 29 with the time to be announced.
The time for the season opener on Thursday, Aug. 29 at Central Florida has also yet to be announced.

Kickoff times for eight of Kent State’s football games, including four home games, were announced.
KSU’s final two games against Miami on Wednesday, Nov. 13 and Ohio on Tuesday, Nov. 19 will both start at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast by either ESPN2 or ESPNU.
Also, the opener against Liberty will start at 6 p.m. Aug. 29 and will be on ESPN3.
The Flashes’ Sept. 7 home game against Bowling Green will start at noon and be part of ESPN’s package with the MAC.
KSU will play at Western Michigan at 7 p.m. Sept. 28 and will host Northern Illinois at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 5. The Flashes will be at Ball State at 3 p.m. on Oct. 12. Kickoff times for the Oct. 26 game against Buffalo and three non-conference road games have yet to be determined.
