Kent State (1-11) let the game slip away to give Robert Morris (1-10) their first victory of the season, 60-51.
With the game tied at 42 with 9:28 left on the clock, Robert Morris went on a 15-4 run and the Flashes committed 24 turnovers.
Trisha Krewson led Kent State with 12 points and seven rebounds.
The struggling Golden Flashes return to action as they kick off the new year at home at 7 p.m. Wednesday against Bethune-Cookman.
Kent State finished second of 13 teams Saturday at the Brute Invitational inside Thomas Fieldhouse at Lock Haven University.
KSU finished with 154.5 points, while Bloomsburg won the team title with 198.5.
The Golden Flashes were led by Stevie Mitcheff, who won a 125-pound championship, while redshirt freshman Sam Wheeler from Copley, and senior Casey Newburg were co-champions at 184.
“We’ve gotten a lot better,” KSU coach Jim Andrassy said of the team’s progress this season.
