Kent State dropped to under .500 in the Mid-American Conference with a 75-56 home loss to Ball State on Wednesday night.
The Golden Flashes (5-14, 4-5 MAC) couldn’t do much to slow down the Cardinals (8-14, 3-6). Ball State shot 56 percent from the field, which was 20 percentage-points higher than KSU (35.7).
Ball State also outrebounded Kent State 38-26.
Itziar Llobet led KSU with 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting, three rebounds and four steals. Tamzin Barroilhet also turned in a full night with 14 points, five rebounds, seven assists and two steals. Jamie Hutcheson added 10 points for Kent State.
The Cardinals had three players reach double figures. Shanee’ Jackson scored a team-high 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Suzanne Grossnickle and Brandy Woody each added 13 points. Grossnickle also had 11 rebounds and Woody dished out seven assists for the Cardinals.
