Notebook: The winner plays at 7:30 p.m. Thursday against the winner of the Northern Illinois-Ball State game. The loser plays at 12:30 p.m. Thursday against the loser of the Northern Illinois-Ball State game. . . . The Golden Flashes, who won the MAC East, have been led offensively by senior second baseman Doug Sanders (.371), junior shortstop Chris Tremblay (.365), and junior first baseman Greg Rohan (.353, 19 home runs and 58 RBI). . . . The pitching staff has been led by junior Chris Carpenter (6-2, 3.82 ERA) and Kyle Smith (8-1, 5.43) of Louisville. . . .
