Kent State men's basketball coach Geno Ford hired Bobby Steinburg as an assistant coach, the school announced Monday.
Steinburg joins the Golden Flashes after spending the past two seasons as the head coach at Motlow (Tenn.) Community College.
He led Motlow to a school record 28-5 mark last season and a No. 15 final national ranking. Six Motlow sophomores signed with NCAA Division I programs, including incoming 6-foot-65/8 KSU forward Frank Henry-Ala.
The 12-year coaching veteran is widely respected in coaching circles as a teacher of fundamentals with a gift for evaluating and establishing relationships with prospective athletes, a news release from KSU said.
