Justin Manns, a 6-foot-11, 215-pound center, signed with Kent State on Wednesday.
A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., Manns graduated from East Forsyth High and has spent the past two seasons at Owens Community College.
''Justin is a tremendous athlete with good hands [and] is a great addition to our program,'' KSU coach Geno Ford said in a statement. ''We are very excited about his ability to run the floor and his timing to block shots. [At] just 19 years old, he continues to get better every day, and will no doubt have a significant impact with our team during his career at Kent State.''
In just his third season of organized basketball, Manns averaged 8.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per game last season. He ranked second in the NJCAA Region 12 with 2.7 blocks a contest and earned an OCCAA All-Conference Honorable Mention selection. Shooting 55 percent from the field, Manns helped lead the team to a 15-win season.

Wow! See the influence the Zips are having? Keith gets his Zeke, and Geno has to try and copy him -- but with a weak JC imitation. Nonetheless, I look forward to the competition between the big men, and the development of the rivalry.
