Sophomore John Hahn Jr. shot a four-under-par 67 Friday, to set a course record at Galloway National Golf Club and help Kent State climb the team standings after Day Two of the three-day NCAA Regional Tournament.
The Golden Flashes are in seventh place with a score of 601 (312-289) and are just six strokes behind from advancing to the NCAA Championships for a second consecutive season.
Hahn, a Hudson High School graduate, is in first place as an individual with an even par 142 (75-67). He eagled No. 9, a par-5 hole that's 539-yards, with a tap in putt. Hahn leads the field by one stroke.
The top-five teams advance to the NCAA Championships in two weeks. No. 15 Illinois is fifth at 595. No 20 Tennessee (583), No. 10 Alabama (588), Virginia (589) and Wake Forest (594) are the top four teams.
