C.J. Miles has concussion, he and Luke Walton will not travel with Cleveland Cavaliers to Indiana

INDEPENDENCE: C.J. Miles was diagnosed with a concussion this morning, placed in the league's concussion program and will not fly to Indiana today for tomorrow's game against the Indiana Pacers.

Luke Walton will also miss the trip to stay behind and receive treatment on his sprained ankle.

Miles suffered a vertical gash on his forehead in the second quarter Sunday when he was elbowed by Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic. He received six stitches and did not return to the game, but wasn't diagnosed with the concussion until Monday.

As part of the NBA's concussion protocol, he'll have to pass a series of tests before he is cleared by a league doctor to return to the court.

Dion Waiters was a participant in Monday's drills, but coach Byron Scott said the workout was so light he wouldn't even consider it an actual practice. Waiters has not been cleared to return to practice, but participated in strenuous one-on-one workouts with a sleeve on his knee after the formal practice session was complete.

Waiters will not play, but will make the trip to Indianapolis. Daniel Gibson will travel, too, although he remains day to day with a sore right elbow.
