Chase Utley extended his hot start with the tiebreaking homer among three hits, sparking the host Philadelphia Phillies to a victory over the Miami Marlins for a three-game sweep.
Utley raised his average to .500 through 10 games, with three home runs and 10 RBI.

Matt Carpenter drove in three runs, leading Michael Wacha and the host St. Louis Cardinals over the Chicago Cubs.

Gonzalez’s three-run shot off Trevor Cahill (0-4) in the third inning gave him 10 RBI in the series.
