A person familiar with the deal says the Toronto Raptors have reached an agreement to send Rudy Gay to the Sacramento Kings in a multiplayer trade.
The Raptors will receive Greivis Vasquez, Patrick Patterson, John Salmons and Chuck Hayes. The Kings also will acquire Aaron Gray and Quincy Acy.
The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity Sunday night because the trade is still pending NBA approval, said the deal is expected to become official today. Toronto was playing at the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.
Yahoo Sports first reported the trade.
The move is the second major one for the Kings already this season as they begin rebuilding under new owner Vivek Ranadive. Sacramento sent Luc Mbah a Moute to Minnesota for Derrick Williams on Nov. 26.
WADE SIDELINED — Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade missed Sunday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons.
Wade had 19 points and five rebounds in a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. He had missed the previous two games with knee soreness and an illness.
Wade suffered a scare in the first quarter Saturday when he appeared to bang his right knee as he crashed to the court. He writhed in pain for a few minutes, but was able to get up and keep going.
Coach Erik Spoelstra likes to rest Wade in back-to-backs to reduce the wear and tear on his knees.
