Paul Pierce hit two free throws with 19.5 seconds left and finished with 23 points, lifting host Boston to a win over Utah.
Jeff Green and Leandro Barbosa each scored 16 points for the Celtics, who won for the fifth time in six games. Kevin Garnett added 11 points and eight rebounds.
Boston’s Rajon Rondo had 10 assists before leaving the game for good in the third quarter with a right ankle injury. It was his 32nd straight game with 10 or more assists.
Paul Millsap led the Jazz with 20 points and 12 boards. Al Jefferson had 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Mo Williams missed three shots in the closing minute for Utah, which fell to 1-5 on the road.
Bulls 112, Suns 106 OT
Carlos Boozer had 28 points and 14 rebounds to help the Chicago Bulls outlast the host Phoenix Suns in overtime.
Boozer made 11-of-20 shots and had his way inside as the Bulls scored 50 points in the paint. Luol Deng added 21 points and center Joakim Noah had 21 points and 12 rebounds.
Chicago scored six points on put-backs in a 10-0 run that gave the Bulls a 79-61 lead in the third quarter. But the Suns fought back in the fourth by being active on the offensive boards. Luis Scola had 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Sebastian Telfair scored 17 off the bench.
Pistons 94, 76ers 76
Greg Monroe had 19 points, 18 rebounds and six assists to help Detroit beat host Philadelphia for their first win of the season.
Kyle Singler scored 16 points, and Tayshaun Prince and Brandon Knight each scored 15 points for a Detroit (1-8) team off to its worst start in franchise history.
Playing their seventh road game out of nine games this season, the Pistons controlled the lethargic Sixers from the opening tip.
Four Pistons starters scored in double digits and forward Jason Maxiell had eight points and 12 rebounds.
Rockets 100, Hornets 96
James Harden scored 30 points, Omer Asik added 15 points and 12 rebounds, and host Houston held off New Orleans.
Harden went 10-for-20 from the field but only 1-of-7 from 3-point range. He reached 30 points for the third time in seven games with the Rockets.
Greivis Vasquez scored a career-high 24 for the Hornets, despite hurting his left ankle in the third quarter and briefly leaving the game. Anthony Davis had only eight points on 2-for-7 shooting.
The Rockets built a 21-point lead in the first half, but the Hornets played better defense in the second to close the gap.
Bucks 99, Pacers 85
Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis scored 16 points each to help host Milwaukee cruise to victory over struggling Indiana.
Beno Udrih had nine points, 10 assists and six rebounds for the Bucks, who shot 42 percent from the field.
Tyler Hansbrough scored 17 points for the Pacers, while Gerald Green and Paul George added 12 points apiece. Indiana lost its fifth straight on the road after a season-opening win at Toronto.
The Bucks scored the first seven points of the game and led throughout.
Grizzlies 107, Thunder 97
Rudy Gay scored a season-high 28 points, Zach Randolph added 20 points and 11 rebounds before getting ejected along with Kendrick Perkins during a late-game altercation and Memphis beat host Oklahoma City.
Marc Gasol chipped in 14 points as the Grizzlies continued the best start in franchise history by winning their sixth straight game.
They took control by outscoring Oklahoma City by 21 in the second quarter.
All-Stars Kevin Durant scored a season-high 34 points for Oklahoma City.
Bobcats 89, Timberwolves 87
Kemba Walker’s jumper with 0.7 of a second left lifted Charlotte to victory over host Minnesota.
Walker finished with 22 points, five assists and four rebounds, and his 19-footer over the out-stretched arm of Alexey Shved helped the Bobcats to their first three-game winning streak in nearly 20 months.
Byron Mullens had 12 points and 15 rebounds and Ramon Sessions had 18 points and six rebounds for Charlotte.
Mavericks 107, Wizards 101
Chris Kaman scored 23 points and had eight rebounds in only his second start for host Dallas, which held on over winless Washington Wizards.
O.J. Mayo had 25 points as the Mavericks snapped a three-game losing streak since Kaman’s only other start.
