Tribe signs minor-league starter
The Indians today signed free-agent right-hander Fernando Nieve to a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to major-league spring training camp.
Nieve, 30, spent the past season at Triple-A Albuquerque, the Tribe-A affiliate of the Dodgers, where he posted a 7-9 record and 5.96 ERA in 25 appearances, including 24 starts.
