Ohio State football recruit arrested in Florida

By Associated Press

MIAMI: An Ohio State football recruit is facing a drug charge in Florida.

According to Miami-Dade Police, running back Jaamal Berry of Miami was arrested on a charge with possession of more than 28 grams of marijuana.

Police stopped the 18-year-old early Thursday for running a stoplight. An incident report states officers found a bag containing marijuana in the back seat.

According to the report, Berry told police he had bought the drugs an hour earlier and planned to smoke them with friends.

Berry was released from jail Thursday on $5,000 bond. Jail records did not show any attorney information. His next court hearing is July 2.

Ohio State football spokeswoman Shelly Poe said today coaches were reviewing Berry's arrest and there had been no change in his status.

That's right OSU ... give scholarships to those druggie athletes. OSU is not about academic achievement, but about Sports! I'd never send a kid there!

Shouldn't he wait until he proves his worth in collage ball before he starts acting like an NFL player?
