RubberDucks 2, Senators 1
Jordan Smith tripled in the top of the ninth inning to score Alex Lavisky to break a 1-1 tie and give the Akron RubberDucks a win over the Harrisburg Senators on Friday night in Harrisburg, Pa.
Lavisky led off the ninth inning with a walk and scored the game-winning run from first base on Smith’s first triple of the season.
The Senators (28-43) took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning on Quincy Latimore’s RBI groundout.
The RubberDucks (44-30) tied the score in the top of the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Francisco Lindor.
Starting pitcher Gabriel Arias allowed one run on five hits and struck out nine through six innings in the no-decision. Reliever Bryan Price worked a perfect eighth inning for his first win of the season.
The Ducks will play the Senators at 6 tonight.
