SeaWolves 6, RubberDucks 1
The Erie SeaWolves won their second consecutive game over the visiting RubberDucks on Thursday night, splitting the four-game series with a 6-1 win.
Steven Moya’s two-run, one-out double put Erie (36-47) on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Akron responded in the second when Bryan LaHair hit a leadoff double and scored one out later on a wild pitch.
In the fifth inning, Erie added a run on a wild pitch by reliever Giovanni Soto. It was the final run charged to Akron starter Duke von Schamann who gave up an RBI single to Devon Travis earlier in the inning. Von Schamann (3-3) was tagged with the loss.
LaHair and Anthony Gallas led the RubberDucks (49-37) offense with a single and double for each.
Akron will host Bowie at 6:35 tonight to open a three-game weekend series.
The Fourth of July game is sold out.
