Browns cornerback Joe Haden did not practice today after injuring an oblique muscle Wednesday during practice.
Haden had limited participation Wednesday because of the injury. Haden might try to play through the injury Sunday when the Browns (2-7) visit the Dallas Cowboys (4-5). If he can't, rookie Trevin Wade will likely receive playing time in the nickel defense while fellow cornerbacks Sheldon Brown and Buster Skrine line up on the outside.
Haden is the Browns’ top cornerback. He served a four-game suspension earlier this season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, and the Browns went 0-4 without him. He has compiled 27 tackles, five broken-up passes and two interceptions in five games.
Safety and special-teams ace Ray Ventrone (hand/calf) and cornerback Dimitri Patterson (ankle) sat out today during the portion of practice open to reporters. Ventrone fully participated in practice Wednesday. Patterson has missed the past four games.
