HOUSTON: Brett Myers gave up two more home runs -- making it 10 in 21 1/3 innings -- as the Indians lost 3-2 to the Astros tonight.

After the game, Myers said he has been pitching with flexor tendinitis in his right forearm, but that it has no affect on the way he is performing.

In the fifth inning, manager Terry Frandona and head trainer Lonnie Soloff went to the mound to see if Myers' lack of velocity was causee by an injury.

“”His velocity was down tonight, especially, so he had less room for error,’’ the manager said. “”I wanted to make sure it was not something physical.’’

“”I’ve been feeling some tendinitis in my flexor tendon,’’ Myers said. “”When they came out, they wanted to check, because my velocity was down. But I don’t feel anything, and you still have to go out and compete.’’
Myers said the tendinitis has lingered since spring training, and that he receives treatment for the condition.
