The Atlanta Hawks recalled rookie guard John Jenkins from their Bakersfield NBA Development League affiliate and he was with the team for Wednesday night’s game against Denver. The Hawks need Jenkins for depth with guard Kyle Korver unavailable against the Nuggets. Korver is with his wife, who is expecting the couple’s first child. … New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson says guard Jason Kidd will play against the Charlotte Bobcats but won’t start. Kidd has missed the last four games with lower back spasms. He’s averaging 8.0 points and 3.4 assists per game this season for New York (12-4).

Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Blake underwent successful surgery to repair a torn abdominal muscle. The team says he’s expected to be out six to eight weeks. Blake has been out of action since Nov. 12. Steve Nash is also out with a leg injury. … Knicks Center Marcus Camby will miss his fourth straight game with a sore left foot. Iman Shumpert (torn left ACL) and Amar’e Stoudemire (left knee debridement) are also out. … Denver Nuggets center Kosta Koufos has the flu and Timofey Mozgov is listed as the fill-in starter against the Atlanta Hawks. … Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau says veteran guard Richard Hamilton could miss two weeks because of a foot injury.
