From a University of Akron news release:
CLEVELAND – University of Akron senior guard Brian Walsh was named to the Mid-American Conference Academic All-MAC team, the league office announced on Friday.
Walsh, who graduated last spring with his bachelor's degree in business administration, boasts a 4.0 GPA while working towards a master's degree in sports administration. The Academic All-MAC honor is the second for Walsh in as many seasons as he became the second UA player to earn two Academic All-MAC honors (Andy Hipsher, 2003 and 2004).
During the 2012-13 campaign, Walsh averaged 7.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 39.5 percent from the field and 36.0 percent from behind the 3-point arc. He recorded his first collegiate double-double, a 14 point, 10 rebound performance against Oklahoma State on Nov. 15. He appeared in 32 of 33 games, making 29 starts.
