Zips football: Naples RB plans to commit
The Akron Zips football staff has reached into Florida for some more talent.
According to someone close to the Naples High School program, running back Manny Morgan will commit to the Zips next week on National Signing Day.
Despite a high school career in which he rushed for 4,400 yards and rushed for 46 touchdowns, Morgan, a first team all-state selection in Florida, slipped under the radar of BCS schools.
He possesses 4.5 speed in the 40, which gives him enough speed to compete in the MAC and he also shows the ability to catch the ball, an essential talent for the running back in coach Terry Bowden’s spread offense.
