The Browns and the University of Akron will hold an “Akron Football Friday” luncheon this week, the Greater Akron Chamber announced.
Browns President Mike Holmgren will be a keynote speaker. The event will be emceed by Browns play-by-play man Jim Donovan. Browns tight end Benjamin Watson, former players and Zips football coach Terry Bowden are scheduled to attend.
“The game of football at all levels is ingrained in the culture of Northeast Ohio and we're honored to work with the Cleveland Browns and the Greater Akron Chamber on this exciting event,” Bowden said in a statement. “My staff and I look forward to showing off the campus and our football facilities to the Browns organization and their loyal fans.”
The luncheon is open to the public. Individual tickets are $25 and corporate tables are $250. Reservations are required. To purchase tickets visit www.greaterakronchamber.org.
The luncheon will take place at the University of Akron Student Union Ballroom, located at 303 Carroll St., Akron. Parking will be available in the Shrank Parking Deck. Registration and networking will begin at 11 a.m. Friday with lunch being served at 11:30 a.m. The presentation will begin at 11:45 a.m.
