The Kent State volleyball team ended its 2013 season on Friday with a 3-0 loss to Ohio University in the quarterfinals of the 2013 Mid-American Conference Tournament at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva.
Juniors Lauren Engleman and Tinuke Aderemi-Ibitola led the Golden Flashes (12-18) with seven kills apiece, and senior Aleksandra Nowak had 25 assists in the final match of her collegiate career.
The Flashes lost the first set 25-21, and dropped the second set 25-23 before losing the third set 25-19.
Nowak had nine digs, and fellow senior Hannah Herc had eight to end her career at Kent with 479 digs, third-highest total in program history. Nowak finished fourth in program history with 3,371 assists.
Kent State beat Ohio in October at home for the first win in its history over a nationally ranked team.
