Stony Brook’s Malcolm Eugene’s touchdown reception with 29 seconds remaining in regulation capped a 10-point comeback to send the game into overtime.
Buffalo’s Alex Neutz tied a career high with 10 receptions, including a 3-yard touchdown.

Sophomore running back Paul James ran for a career-best 192 yards and three touchdowns and Rutgers (2-1) defeated Eastern Michigan and honored the paralyzed Eric LeGrand by retiring his jersey. Ryan Brumfield scored on a 43-yard pass from Tyler Benz on a flea-flicker for Eastern Michigan (1-2) and Dylan Mulder added a 39-yard field goal, but also missed two attempts.
N. Texas 34, Ball State 27
Derek Thompson threw for 274 yards and rushed 72 yards to lead host North Texas (1-1) to a come-from-behind win over Ball State (2-1). North Texas (1-1) struggled early as Ball State (2-1) sprinted to a 20-3 lead in the first quarter.
Northern Illinois 45, Idaho 35
Quarterback Jordan Lynch led the Huskies (2-0) with 152 passing yards and three touchdowns along with 176 rushing yards and two more touchdowns on the ground in a road win over Idaho (0-3).
Toledo 33, E. Washington 21
Running back David Fluellen led Toledo (1-2) with 143 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries, as the Rockets beat Eastern Washington (2-1) at home.
