The University of Akron swimming and diving team traveled to SPIRE Institute at Ohio University on Saturday and came away with a 156-144 victory over the Bobcats.
Kendra Colby won two events for the Zips, taking top honors in the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.96) and 100-yard breast stroke (1:06.33).
Hannah Raspopovich, Carla McNamara, Ludwika Szynal, Amanda Lawson all won individual events, too.
Raspopovich was also a member of both the 200-yard medley and freestyle relay teams that each took home top honors. Colby was on the second leg of the medley relay.
Track and field
Dylan Shirley and Kyle Tywon of Kent State University each took top honors in their events as the Golden Flashes men competed in the final day of the Gladstein Invitational at Indiana University.
Shirley won the long jump with a jump of 7.14 meters and Tywon won the Heptathalon with a score of 5,241.
Leading the women were the 3,200-meter relay team of Tabitha Jacofsky, Lauren Burnett, Taylor Wickey and Hannah Fleck which took top honors with a time of 9:01.30.
Matt Dellinger, Jordan Italiano, Anthony Meray and Nate Vance of Kent State University were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Football Team.
The four selections were tied for second most among MAC teams and marked the fourth consecutive season that at least three Golden Flashes were represented on the team.
