Case Western Reserve University juniors Matt Keen and Paul Pakan were both named to the 2012 University Athletic Association Championship All-Tournament baseball team on Thursday.
Keen and Pakan, both Tallmadge graduates, led the Spartans to a third-place finish in the tournament in Sanford, Fla.
Keen, a three-time UAA All-Tournament selection, hit .314 during the tournament with three doubles, five RBI, five runs and two steals. Keen has a .293 average this season with one home run, 11 RBI and 18 runs in 18 games.
Pakan, who is in his first season with the Spartans after transferring from George Washington, hit .394 during the tournament with a home run, six RBI and two stolen bases.

The Kent State baseball team lost 5-2 on Tuesday to Fresno State in a nonconference game at Beiden Field in Fresno. Junior George Roberts had an RBI sacrifice fly and senior Jimmy Rider had an RBI single to lead the Golden Flashes.
The Golden Flashes open Mid-American Conference play this weekend against Northern Illinois at Olga A. Mural Field in Kent. The three-game series begins at 3 p.m. Friday.
Softball
Kent State gave up the go-ahead run in the sixth inning on an error in a 2-1 loss to Central Florida on Wednesday in Orlando.
Senior Shannon Laughlin was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth to tie the score after Lauren Grimes and Alex Marcantonio both singled and Abbey Ledford walked.
UCF took the lead in the sixth on an infield error followed by an RBI single.
The Golden Flashes finished 3-3 on their Florida road trip and next play a doubleheader at Pittsburgh on March 28.
Track and field
The University of Akron will send 54 athletes to the LSU Relays this weekend in Baton Rouge to begin its outdoor season. The meet begins at 10:30 a.m. today with field events, and the running events begin at 2:15.
The Zips have set school, meet and facility records at the LSU Relays in the 1,600 relay in each of the past two seasons, including the time of 7 minutes, 31.86 seconds a year ago.
The Zips host the Northeast Ohio Quad from April 13-14 and the Campbell/Wright Invitational from May 4-5 at Lee R. Jackson Field
