Three golfers finished inside the top 20 to lead the University of Akron to a fourth-place finish at the Furman Intercollegiate.
Charlie Bull (-4/212) extended his streak of rounds under par to four with a 1-under 71 on Sunday and finished in a tie for fourth place. J.B. Williams (+1/217) and Louis Birchall (+4/220) finished 11th and 18th, respectively.
Kent State University (14-10, 4-2) managed just three hits in a 2-1 loss to Eastern Michigan (10-13, 1-5) on Sunday.
KSU scored first when Justin Wagler singled home Alex Miklos, who had reached base with a triple. However, Eastern answered immediately and then took the lead in the seventh inning on an RBI groundout.
The University of Akron (15-6, 2-0) won its fourth consecutive game in a 2-1 win over Eastern Michigan (8-21, 0-4).
Erin Seiler threw her second complete game in as many days to secure the series victory. The sophomore improved her record to 9-2 in the circle, striking out eight without a walk.
