• Tommy Monnot singled to score George Roberts in the top of the ninth inning Tuesday to break a 5-5 tie and give visiting Kent State a 6-5 win over Pittsburgh.
The Golden Flashes (31-21) trailed 3-1 after the second inning but scored four runs in the top of the sixth on two-run singles by Jason Bagoly and Sawyer Polen. The Panthers tied the score with two runs in the seventh inning.
Starting pitcher Nick Jensen- Clagg allowed three runs on five hits and struck out two in the no decision. Reliever Eric Dorsch got the win and Brian Clark earned his ninth save of the season.

• The University of Akron scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to tie the score 4-4 but allowed a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth in a 5-4 loss to Xavier on Tuesday at Hayden Field in Cincinnati.
The Zips (15-34) trailed 4-0 in the eighth inning before Brady Stewart, Bryan White and Daulton Mosbarger each singled to load the bases with one out. An RBI single by Matt Rembielak began the rally and Devan Ahart, Billy Salem and Jared Turocy each followed with an RBI single to tie the score.
Freshman starting pitcher J.T. Burbaker went 5⅔ innings in the no decision and reliever Pat Dyer took the loss.
