University of Akron freshman Quentin Cieslinski finished in 11th place with 6,437 points in the junior division decathlon Thursday at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
Cieslinski was in 15th place after the first five events Wednesday.
On Thursday, Cieslinski was 14th in the 110-meter hurdles (15.27), 15th in the discus (34.64), 14th in the pole vault (13-1), 11th in the javelin (147-2) and sixth in the 1,500-meter run (4:41.21).
The Racers won their second game in a row, a 14-6 win over the New York/New Jersey Comets in Allentown, Pa., on Wednesday night.
Rookie pitcher Ivy Renfroe allowed one earned run and struck out four to get her first win.
The Racers (3-6) broke open a close game with five runs in the sixth and six runs in the seventh. The big blow was a grand slam by Charlotte Morgan in the seventh.
Brianna Turang went 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBI to lead the attack.
Erin Ebert (Hillsdale) and Kenny Kornowski (Smithville) were named the Female and Male Athletes of the Year at Walsh University.
Ebert, a softball pitcher, threw two no-hitters and compiled a record of 8-8 with a 2.60 ERA for the Cavaliers.
She pitched 11 complete games and finished her Walsh career tied for first with four career no-hitters and second with 443 strikeouts.
Kornowski scored 20.6 points and had 9.1 rebounds per game for the Cavaliers basketball team.
He shot 57 percent from the floor, 36 percent on 3-pointers, and 72 percent from the free-throw line.
