The University of Akron women’s tennis team posted a 3-1 victory over ASA Community College in exhibition play Sunday morning. As an exhibition, the win does not count toward the Zips’ overall record.
Ksenia Berestetska and Karolina Maksimava were both victorious in singles while Martina Zerbola and Berestetska won their doubles competition for the Zips.
Case Western Reserve University moved into a tie for second place in the hyper-competitive University Athletic Association with an 80-73 victory over New York University.
Dane McLoughlin scored a season-high 28 points to lead the Spartans. All five of Case’s starters finished with double-digit points.
