Florida connections again are paying off for the University of Akron football team, according to multiple reports.
The Zips reportedly have received a commitment from Moses McCray, a 6-foot-2 defensive tackle transfer from Florida State, to play the coming season.
McCray has endured an injury-prone college career, according to his FSU bio.
He has been granted a sixth year of eligibility because of the injuries. He graduated from FSU in the fall of 2012 with a degree in social sciences.
He will bolster a defensive line that has talent at the top tier, but once again lacks depth.
Assorted scouting reports agree that McCray is an impressive physical specimen whose injuries have not allowed him to “tap into his potential.”
