Zips Basketball: UA and Dambrot close on new contract
According to sources at the University of Akron, coach Keith Dambrot and the school are close to reaching a deal on a contract extension.
Dambrot's future with the school came under scrutiny after the season's end when Duquense University attempted to lure him away to rescue their hoops program.
Dambrot rebuffed at least two offers and entered into negotiations to extend his current deal shortly thereafter.
Word of a new deal could come any day.
