AUDITIONS

Akron All-City Musical — Auditions for Ragtime will be held at 2:30 p.m. March 24 and 6 p.m. March 25 at the Sandefur Theatre in Guzzetta Hall, University of Akron. Call back auditions will take place on March 26. Casting is open to all students enrolled in a public or private high school in Summit County, as well as age-appropriate home-schoolers living within the county limits. Auditions are by appointment only and must be scheduled by calling 330-535-3179 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.

Akron Pops Orchestra — Seeking musicians, especially strings and keyboards, for the volunteer orchestra, which performs a variety of concert music. Rehearsals are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave., Cuyahoga Falls. Most concerts are on Thursday evenings, with a few weekend concerts. City of Flags Chorus — Active show chorus is seeking women who enjoy singing a cappella, four-part harmony. Rehearsals are 7 p.m. Mondays at Greenwood Christian Church, 44th Street Northwest and Frazer Avenue, Canton. 800-793-3805.

Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra — Auditions for the 2013-14 ­season will be held in May at Severance Hall, 11001 Euclid Ave., Cleveland. There will be afternoon, evening, and weekend audition times available. Middle- and high school ­student instrumentalists, who are studying privately and involved in their school music program, are invited to audition. Auditions will be heard for the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp (alternate position), flute, piccolo, oboe, English horn, clarinet,­ bassoon, contrabassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone (alternate position), bass trombone (alternate positions), tuba (alternate position), percussion and keyboard instruments. Cuyahoga Falls Community Chorus — The chorus has openings for all voice parts and will accept adults of all ages from Cuyahoga Falls and surrounding communities. Tuscarawas Philharmonic Chorus — Area singers from high school age to adult are invited to join the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Chorus’ rehearsals for Bach’s St. Matthew Passion. Saturday rehearsals are at 10 a.m. at Dover ­Alliance Church, 228 E. Third St. Sunday rehearsals are at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 139 Third St. NE, New Philadelphia. University of Akron — Final auditions are March 9 for the August premiere of Tuning In. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. in Guzzetta Recital Hall, 157 University Ave., Akron. Actors, singers and dancers needed. Open to people on the UA campus and in the community. Roles available for men and women ages 18 and up, including older adults.
