BARC and Akron Dog Park
The Akron Dog Park was created as a safe space where dog owners could bring their canine companions to exercise and socialize. The park opened in September 2004 with land and seed money for initial construction provided by the City of Akron. Since then, the park has been maintained and operated by BARC. BARC is run entirely by a committee of volunteers with all donations covering the daily operations, on-going maintenance and site improvements of the Akron Dog Park.
