July 1, 2013 – BCG Systems, Inc., a provider of complete technology solutions headquartered in Akron, Ohio, today announced the successful implementation of Microsoft Lync for Premier Medical Resources (PMR). The company, headquartered in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, specializes in providing administrative and management services to physician practices throughout Northeast Ohio.
Premier Medical Resources had been focused on implementing a centralized contact center for a number of years, which would eliminate the individual private branch exchange (PBX) phone systems at each of their supported physician offices. A unified communications solution would ensure consistent patient care from one office to another, a top concern for Premier Medical Resources’ management.
“Microsoft Lync was really the front runner from the beginning,” said Dustin Miller, Assistant Vice President of IT&S at Premier Medical Resources. “I feel really fortunate that I was able to build on my existing relationship with BCG Systems and benefit from their extensive Lync knowledge.”
Microsoft Lync includes features of a traditional voiceover Internet protocol (IP) private branch exchange, replacing the existing PBX systems for enhanced communications. In addition to enterprise voice capabilities, Lync will also serve as the instant messaging, screen sharing, and audio/video/web conferencing platform for PMR and their clients.
