Akron-Summit County Public Library will present "Controlling Diabetes: What Really Works' Saturday, October 26 from 10 a.m. until noon at Main Library in downtown Akron.
Living with diabetes can be a challenge for families with one or more members facing this disease. This program will provide simple, realistic approaches to healthier living with diabetes.
Healthy Living with Diabetes, presented by Michael O’Hara
10 – 11 a.m.
O’Hara, his sister and two of his children are living with diabetes. He will discuss the lifestyle choices they have made that allow them to live full and active lives with diabetes.
Diabetes: Just Tell Me What to Eat, presented by Robin Waltenberger
11 a.m. – Noon
Waltenberger will explain the best nutritional and grocery shopping strategies for families facing diabetes. She is a local holistic nutritionist and licensed counselor who will teach attendees shopping and nutritional strategies to make grocery shopping easier.
